The company started its journey in the year 1967 under its premier unit India Engg. Works, in Jamnagar, Gujarat India.

It had a vision to design and manufacture machineries.

The industrial growth was on an upswing and the saurashtra region promised to be a national hub for developing such a business. The founders were aware of the opportunity.

The economy always produces sound opportunities but it is only in the vision of the brave to take it into their hands. The founders of India Group were such a team that they grabbed the opportunity with both hands. The Initial going was very tough. The government regulations, slow growth, and unavailability of proper infrastructure, knowhow and manpower. Despite of the above challenges, the team were focused to make their prime venture a success.

They fought all the challenges that came their way and in a space of three years, when many of their counterparts were thinking to leave the industry they stood strong. In the next five years company became a force to reckon with not only in Saurashtra and Gujarat region nut the whole of India.

Today the group stands a winner with India Group its Flagship, well supported by the babies, India Engg. Works, India Steel Fab and a diversification in form of Indian Mahila Udyog.
